Job Summary
The Manager – Exports & Sales will be responsible for leading domestic and international sales operations for ferro alloy products, driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding market presence across key geographies. The role requires strong commercial acumen, export management expertise, and deep understanding of the ferro alloy and steel industry.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
* Develop and implement sales strategies for domestic and export markets.
* Drive revenue growth and achieve volume and profitability targets for ferro alloy products.
* Identify and develop new customers, distributors, traders, and institutional buyers globally.
* Build long-term relationships with steel plants, foundries, and international customers.
* Lead commercial negotiations relating to pricing, contracts, payment terms, and annual supply agreements.
Export Management
* Handle complete export business operations including order finalization, shipment planning, documentation, and payment realization.
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export policies, INCOTERMS, LC terms, and statutory requirements.
* Coordinate with CHA, shipping lines, logistics providers, and internal departments for timely dispatches.
* Monitor international freight trends, currency fluctuations, and global market movements.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
* Analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing patterns, and customer demand.
* Develop market expansion plans for new territories and strategic accounts.
* Provide periodic MIS reports, sales forecasts, and business performance analysis to management.
* Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and customer visits.
Customer & Commercial Management
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and relationship management.
* Handle customer complaints, commercial issues, and dispute resolutions effectively.
* Monitor receivables and ensure timely collection from customers.
* Collaborate with production and operations teams for effective supply planning.
Team Leadership
* Guide and mentor sales and export coordination teams.
* Establish performance targets and monitor team productivity.
* Drive process improvements and strengthen sales systems and reporting mechanisms.
Required Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of ferro alloys, steel industry, and international commodity markets.
* Expertise in export documentation, shipping procedures, LC handling, and international trade compliance.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
* Commercial and strategic business understanding.
* Leadership and team management capabilities.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and sales MIS systems.
Educational Qualification
* Graduate in Engineering / Commerce / Business Administration.
* MBA in Marketing / International Business preferred.
Experience
* 8–15 years of experience in ferro alloy sales and export marketing.
* Prior experience in steel, metals, mining, or commodity trading industry preferred.
* Exposure to international markets and export operations is essential.
